| October | Corporate name changed to NIDEC-READ CORPORATION. | |
| 1998 | January | The GATS series of step-and-repeat testing systems for BGAs and MCMs released. |
| 1999 | February | Representative office in Germany opened in the suburbs of Frankfurt. |
| November | Nagoya office opened. | |
| 2000 | July | NIDEC-READ TAIWAN CORPORATION (Currently Nidec Advance Technology Taiwan Corporation) established. |

| 2002 | March | NIDEC-READ joined 5 other Nidec group companies to establish Nidec System Engineering (Zhejiang) Corporation, in Pinghu, Zhejing Province, China. |
